35TH FIGHTER BOMBER SQUADRON STRIP ALERT WHEN THE 51ST FIGHTER WIND LEFT KOREA FOR NAHA, OKINAWA THE 8TH GROUP STARTED PULLING RUNWAY ALERT, EACH SQUADRON TOOK A TURN. WE HAD PLANES ON TWO, FIVE AND FIFTEEN MINUTE ALERT. WHEN THE WIND CHANGED AND THE PLANES HAD TO TAKE OFF FROM THE OPPOSIT DIRECTON THE CREW CHEIF RODE THE WING AND HUNG ON FOR DEAR LIFE WHILD THE PLANE RACED DOEN THE RUNWAY. A FEW TIMES I THOUGHT THEY FORGOT THERE WAS A CREW CHEIF ON THE WING.
