Additional information:

In 1959, I worked for Capt Wessel at the 664th AC&W Sqdn in Bellefountaine, Ohio.
HE WAS ONE of the operations in Hawaii that reported airplanes approching
from the WEST and was told he was wrong, the american planes were approching from the 
EAST and for him to recalibrate his radar. 
The rest is history.
